Google safeguards Gmail with new security code

Google's tryst with introducing new features to Gmail continues. This time in the form of an additional security measure! The new feature will ask users to type a six-digit code after an accountholder's Google password is keyed in.

The two-step login method will ensure that hackers and imposters are prevented from breaking into e-mail accounts. The new six digit code will be sent to the mobile phones of people.

This extra protective measure will initially be offered to government agencies and companies who subscribe to email and other office applications by Google. This feature will also be stretched to schools using Gmail services.

General people using the free e-mail service from Google can make use of the security code in few months' time.
