Zen M45 - The Capacitive touch mobile at Rs. 5,000
Zen Mobiles launched an interesting handset called Flikk M45. Dont discount Flikk M45 as yet another handset. This handset contains all that takes to make it a trendsetter!
Good news first. Zen M45 Flikk is probably the first capacitive touchscreen handset in India to be available at Rs. 5,000! Yes, M45 has a 2.8 inch capacitive touchscreen that is vivid even under bright sunlight, has multi-touch [supports pinch & zoom] and comes at QVGA resolution (240x320 pixels). M45 has a 3.2 mega pixels camera on the back. Zen Mobile is offering along with the handset an exclusive back-cover fitted with a stand, that allows you to put it on the desk and watch movies :) M45 comes pre-loaded with social applications such as snaptu, facebook, twitter, opera and cricinfo. In addition, Zen is offering a 4GB memory card free along with the mobile phone. Guess what? This 4GB memory card will be pre-loaded with movies such as 3 Idiots, Dabangg and Dewaar and the PC Suite is also pre-loaded into this memory card. Neat!

Nokia announces E6 and X7 price and specifications
It was a very busy day for Nokia as it announced about two new devices called Nokia X7 and Nokia E6. Also Nokia showed off its new and upgraded operating system called Symbian Anna (previously known as PR2). Finally, Nokia's OVI Store also reached a significant milestone clocking 5 million downloads a day.
Nokia X7 is the newest addition to the X-Series family. The X-Series has always been about Music and Entertainment. X7 sticks to the same philosophy. X7 is a really big touchscreen entertainment from Nokia. X7 has a 4 inch AMOLED touch screen made of GORILLA glass and comes with a resolution of 640x360 pixels. Nokia X7 is expected to be available in the markets in Q2 2011. Nokia X7 is expected to be priced at 380 Euros.

Acer announced the launch of its Android based smartphone Liquid Mini to India for Rs.11990. Acer Liquid Mini is also known as Acer E310
Acer Liquid Mini comes with a elegant body design. It sports a 3.2 inch HVGA touchscreen displaying 320 X 480 pixels resolution. The display is capable of Multi-touch input method, Touch sensitive controls. This smartphone wrapped with a 600 MHz ARM 11 processor, Adreno 200 GPU, Qualcomm MSM7227 chipset. The internal memory 512 MB RAM, 512 MB ROM coupled with Android OS v2.2 (Froyo) delivers an optimal performance. The external memory can be expanded to 32 GB using a MicroSD card. Sony W8 the first Walkman Android Phone
Sony announced the world's first walkman android phone in Indonesia today. W8 is a 3.0 inch capacitive touch-screen android handset. Strangely, Sony chooses to use Android 2.1 Eclair edition for this handset. These are the days when even Froyo is considered obselete! Anyway, coming to the looks W8 follows the same design as that of X8. W8 comes in three different interesting colours: Azure Blue, Metallic Red and Iconic Orange. Powered by 600 Mhz, 128 MB RAM and sports a 3.2 mega pixels camera on the back. The phone will be launched in the Taiwan, Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, Phillipines and India (yay!). We can expect W8 to hit the markets by Q2 2011 - that is by the end of June 2011 (!). Price is not officially announced yet. But we can expect a price tag of somewhere between Rs. 10,000 - Rs. 12,000 in India!

AMD launches new chips to fire up computing
In a bid to attract more attention Microprocessor major, AMD announced the launch of their new generation chips that promise to take personal computing to the next level with vastly superior audio-video handling capabilities rather than just compete on speed.
AMD, the perennial runner-up to Intel in the multibillion-dollar global PC microprocessor market, recently started shipping its 'Llano chips.' It has been seen that there is a strong demand for other recently launched low-cost chips aimed at netbooks told by AMD. AMD's Llano chips are aimed at laptops and desktops and will compete with Intel's recently launched Sandy Bridge chips.

Samsung Electronics is supposedly working on a smartphone that would be powered by 2Ghz Dual-core Processor (with each core clocking at 2GHz)! Today, most of the laptops and desktops in the world are powered by 2Ghz - 4 Ghz processors. The Smartphone processors are evolving at a much faster rate than the PC Processors! Also, it's worthwhile to keep in mind that a single-core 4GHz processor would be outperformed by a dual-core 2GHz processor. The main reason being the superior multi-tasking capabilities offered by multi-core processors.

There has been a dramatic increase in the number of people using iPhones, Androids and other smartphones. And the increase in consumers in smartphones has raised serious threat from virus and calls for high internal security measures. As per the report published by Kaspersky the hackers has shift its concentration in making virus for smartphones rather than computers. According to the report most of the smartphones are not secure from these viruses.
