Android Tablet under rs 10,000 from MERCURY

mobile phones and tablets. We have seen atleast 10 such market entrants in the last one year! All these players have been hanging around for more than a year now and are trying to make hay with the sudden outburst of Affordable Android Tablets Space. Reliance 3G Tab and Beetel Magiq re-ignited this affordable android tablet space.

The latest entrant to this space is Mercury - a computer peripheral manufacturer. Mercury has announced a 7 inch, Android Gingerbread and triple core 1.2 GHz powered Mercury mTab at just Rs. 9,499.

The tablet has a 1.3 MP front-facing camera for video calling, 512MB RAM, 7-inch capacitive touchscreen display, 4GB Internal storage, microSD slot that can support upto 32GB external storage and measures just 400g. This tablet has wi-Fi capability and can support 3G connection via 3G USB dongle (well, technically it is not 3G!). The price tag is pretty decent for this configuration.

But we are suprised by the new triple-core processor? What is this triple-core powered? Is this the mistake of the press-release agency or the company is trying to market false information? Without the in-built capability of 3G, they use 3G! Generally, I am little wary of the companies which undertake liberal marketing gimmicks without any sense of reasonability! Mercury mTab is a news..beyond that I am not sure how many takers are there for this device.
