Apple unveils iTunes 10.1.2 update

Apple has released a maintenance and stability update for iTunes - media-playing, iOS-device-syncing and app-shopping tool. The company's press release says "iTunes 10.1.2 provides a number of important stability and performance improvements."

iTunes 10.1.2 delivers certain improvements and support for the soon-to-be-released CDMA-based Verizon iPhone. The debut date for CDMA iPhone on Verizon is on February 10.
The update's "Read Before You Install iTunes" document can only be seen if you download the new version from Apple's iTunes site and not when downloading through software update. The update requires Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard or later.

The new software is currently available via Software Update and the company's download website in distributions for both Mac OS X 10.5 and later and 64-bit versions of Windows Visa and Windows 7.
